British manufactured Mk.1A "Bone Dome" with a blue-grey G-type inner helmet.

First Mk.1As arrived in 1955 with Vampire Trainer jets.

H-type masks were used by Vampire, Fouga and Safir pilots.

A-13/H (MBU-3/P) and P-1B/H masks were used also by Fouga and Gnat pilots. In this photo is a A-13/2 mask.

A green name tape of the last user is still there with ILMAVOIMAT (AIR FORCE) sticker.

Seppo Tihula was a Fouga mechanic in 21st Fighter Squadron at Pori.

Inside the helmet are the initials of the two earlier users; " I. J. " & " PP ". Initials of "I.J", are 99,9% sure initials of Ilmari Juutilainen. He was an active Fouga pilot in the 60's and 70's and he was the son of the 94 kills WW2 ace pilot Eino Ilmari "Illu" Juutilainen. Both father and son had the same name. Illu's other son flew for Finnair as an airliner pilot. Illu Juutilainen was not a relative of mine, though we do have the same surname.
