My first dog was Afghan Kirman Camomilla. Next summer I decided to take another Afghan to be Cami's friend. " Minttu" (Kirman Dominika) was a blue domino. A very rare color back then. The domino pattern is a funny kind of Mickey Mouse-mask. The Saluki grizzle pattern is much the same.

Minttu eventually gave birth to 9 pups, but unfortunately none of pups inherited the dam's color.

I kept one of the males," Romeo" (Kirman Gharome). He came champion at a young  age but was never used at stud.

My first Saluki was Kirman Gajaneh, "Janna"
We aquired our first Saluki by pure chance. The breeder, who had her hands full with other people's dogs, gave me a strange shy Saluki maiden to care for during a ferry trip to Sweden. She insisted on sitting in my lap. None of my Afghans had ever been lapdogs and it felt good to travel with a Saluki that wanted that kind of intimacy.

After a family conference we decided that since we already had three dogs a fourth was no big deal.

Chrisse happened to have a Saluki litter at the time, and from this we reserved the bitch Janna (Kirman Gajaneh).

She grew into a longlegged, gangly hound, I think she got a first grade at a show, but not a show dog although I had.

Here she is as a little puppy.

If you are interested, you can find a lot more of Sandika, the most important of my Salukis, perhaps and her pups

Sohvi's Kirman A-litter

I lost "Minttu" suddenly when she was only 10 years old. After her a real Saluki entered my life. Kirman Sandika can today be found in most of the Finnish pedigrees, occasionally many times over. "Sohvi" (Sandika) had two litters: The first with Multi Ch Kirman Ramses (1+6 pups). The most famous of these were "Assi", "Anu" and "Fami."

"Sohvi's" second litter was conceived in the USA. Sandika was shipped by air to the Ranesaw kennel. Together with "Rumor", Am Ch Ranesaw Spread the Word, she had 6 pups (2+4).
From this litter I kept my foudation bitch
Kirman Cintiya ("Jasmiini"). Although somehow I feel Sandika was my actual foundation bitch.
From Jasmiini's litter I kept one grizzle pattern bitch,
Al-Yasamin Jarida.
I get back one of "Jasmiini's" bitches,
"Iisa" (Al-Yasamin Jalisa), a very nice and beautiful Saluki maiden.

After "Sohvi's" dead our pack grew with two Afghans, the bitch "Unna" (Kirman Khesana) and a 4 year old male, "Duffy", (FIN CH SAgoslottets Globetrotter) who needed a new home.

At the moment I look forward to watching Jarida's pups grow. Jarida had her own litter January 2004 with Fin Ch Kuriirin Dolezal Deverre, 2 males and 5 bitches. I kept one of the bitches, Ada (Al-Yasamin Adiba)
