  • Message from Basil E. Grüter, participated as Petri Honkanen foundation award recipient to 19th Helsinki live demonstration course in microneurosurgery:
  • "Attending the 19th Helsinki live demonstration course in microneurosurgery was a truly positive experience in all aspects. Following the initial day of lectures, a variety of complex neurosurgical procedures such as aneurysm clippings, bypass surgeries or resection of complex, infiltrating tumours were performed live and discussed among operators and participants. Outstanding surgeons, a limited number of course attendees and the environment of the Helsinki University Hospital created a warm and friendly atmosphere. Furthermore, it was a great chance to present my own research to an international group of distinctive experts in the field. I can only encourage young neurosurgeons with an interest in vascular and skull base surgeries to apply to Petri Honkanen Foundation and to enroll in the live course. - Basil E. Grüter, MD Aarau, Switzerland"

  • Vuoden 2019 apurahojen julkistaminen

Petri Honkasen säätiö tukee suomalaista, maailmalla tunnustettua, aivoaneurysmatutkimusta. Aivoaneurysman pullistuman vuoto on suomalainen kansansairaus, joka aiheuttaa merkittävää invaliditeettia myös työikäisten henkilöiden keskuudessa. Vuotoriskin tunnistaminen vaatii uusia työkaluja, joiden kehittämisen tukemiseen Petri Honkasen säätiö osallistuu ainoana säätiönä Suomessa.
