Stone Texture Tutorial

You will need the following tools to complete this tutorial:

  1. Open a new image (File > New): any size you need for your masonry project (mine is 200 x 200 pixels), 72 ppi, white, 16.7 million colours.
  2. Apply Effects > Texture Effects > Blinds using the default settings (click the Reset button).

  3. Apply Effects > Artistic Effects > Brush Strokes using the following settings (select the Default preset and change the colour to #4040FF):

    Length 10, Density 25, Bristles 160, Width 5, Opacity 50, Softness 20, Angle 102, Colour #4040FF Brush Stroked Image

  4. Apply Effects > Texture Effects > Rough Leather using the default settings (click the Reset button).

  5. Set your foreground colour to #FFFFFF and apply Effects > Artistic Effects > Hot Wax Coating.

  6. Apply Effects > Noise > Despeckle. Starting to look pretty neat, huh?

  7. Apply Effects > Artistic Effects > Coloured Chalk: detail 20, opacity 40. Your mossy stone wall texture is now finished!

Optional steps:
