Kirsi Lassi
member of Suomen Pianonvirittäjät ry (Finnish Piano Tuners' Association) MY WORKI do most of
my work in the Helsinki area, but if needed I am willing
to go farther, too. In addition to private customers and institutes, I
also tune for concerts and recordings. When needed, I also tune
harpsichords and fortepianos. I also service,
regulate, repair and evaluate upright and grand pianos.
When it comes to a major repair, the best thing to do is
to take the whole instrument to a reliable workshop, and I'm happy to be
of assistance in such cases, too. Harri Mikkola
THE ASSOCIATIONThere are approximately 90 members in Suomen Pianonvirittäjät ry all over Finland. The association together with its members is a member of a European organisation, Europiano, and the Nordic NPTA:han (Nordic Piano Technicians Association). One of the main goals of the association is to try to keep the standards of the trade high for ex. by training the members. I have been a member of the association since 1988, and acted as a member of the board and the secretary until 1998 and I used to make our magazine Kaikupohja (the Soundboard). In 2003 I was elected as the president of the association. MY BACKGROUNDI studied in Arlainstituutti to become a piano tuner, and after having finished three-year-long school in 1988 I passed the examination to become a member of the association. I have studied under instruction of concert technician Matti Kyllönen and Klavierbaumeister Bernhard Farenholtz in Berlin, I have also studied abroad, at the Bechstein factory in Berlin (1992) and at the Yamaha Piano Technical Academy in Japan (Grand Piano Basic Course 1993 and Grand Piano Master Course 1999). I have also participated in several of the association's seminars and the training given in Europiano congresses. CONTACT ME(The best way to reach me is my email) gsm +358-400
