Musical background

I started studying music at the age of four. I studied classical piano by taking personal lessons, but quit official studies during teenage years. At that point I began learning guitar by myself, mostly by ear but also by tablatures and continued playing piano in a more freeform way. I've always had quite intuitive and chaotic viewpoint towards music, hence my knowledge on theory is quite limited at best.

Building the home studio

In the year 2000 I decided to start building PC based home studio. I got myself midi-keyboard and started browsing the internet forums and messageboards for information regarding the possibilities and best practices home musicians had found out regarding music production and PC based solutions. I decided that hardware is not for me and hence I started building totally VST and sound library based system, in which I'd have total control with sequencer and keyboard - no other strings attached.

The general structure is still evolving, but you can find out the main instruments and libraries at the studio page.

Creative Commons -viewpoint

To me, art and music are almost holy and sacred things and I find that freedom of expression and creativity is something you shouldn't sell and turn into merchandise. Hence from the beginning it was clear to me, that whatever I manage to produce, I will share it with the world as freely as possible. Creative Commons was the way to go. Whenever I manage to produce something, I instantly put it up as mp3 file with as little restrictions regarding the use and copyright than is reasonable. All of my projects contain the following statement and licence:
