Cosmos 1100, spring to summer 2002

Edges of bulkheads got heavy collars. Here is main bulkhead.

Also some extra layers of glass to bulkheads before fastening. Biax-cloth is not cheap, so all pieces must use if possible. Unfortunately that mean more seams and more weight (sorry crew, toothbrushes handles must break off ...).

Some puzzle with saloon back bulkhead. This is not an appartment house, just first floor, headroom 185 cm.

First job was leveling of both hulls. Easy care, only about a billion measuring and got four hours with tree men gang. Shells must prop up every side. Lower side...

sides...

and lengthwise direction. With a spirit level (model without cork ;-) crosswise and lengthwise levels.

The fixation of bulkheads started with epoxy putty corner rounding. Putty is thicken with wood flour and silicon ash (Cab O Sil etc.) Squeeze out of plastic bag where corner has cut out. Do not heat more than necessary with your hands ;-) In warm weather there are only fast and faster epoxies...

Specimen of work from Pepe...

Rounding tool is almost anything. Soft plastic tube stump is my favourite. It is flexible if necessary, easy to clean, even next day ;-), leave wide empty sectors both side,

where extra putty wipe off...

Definitely class A. Curing till next day.

With some abrasive paper roughness off. Laminating with couple layers of biax-cloth, fibers 45 degrees across joint.
