Our
first
boxer at Boxmann was Eckbran
Laristandos. He was born July 1974 . Bruno was sire
to one litter, where was 2 CAC winners.
Our second boxer was from England: Ch
Polly Flinders. Fergie was born June 1986, she was first
boxer in Scandinavia (Denmark excluded) who was from famous Bruno v d
Morsbach -line. She won most Best of Breeds -trophies 1988 in Finland
and she became youngest Finnish Champion. She died tragically in accident
January 1989.
Our
oldies Wandero Tigress Kali 1989-2003, Boxmann Prologue 1989-2000, Liz
v Bereler Ries 1988-2001
Dog world changed 1988 when few rabies foxes came to Finland. Same time
when Sweden and Norway stayed behind quarantine borders, it was possible
to travel to Continental dogshows and import dogs much easier. I took
Fergie to German Jahressieger show 1988 in Köln (Cologne). She was
first Finnish boxer in German show. Same trip I also visit some Dutch
and German kennels. Originally I was planned to have puppy only from German
top kennel: v Bereler Ries. There was for me was nice temperemantfull
red girl Liz v
Bereler Ries. Liisa showed what real boxers are both home
and showring. She passed ZTP (German breeding test) same time when she
did have 4 week old puppies without any training for bite work! Same trip
result was Dutch Muphij
v d Hoeverbos, Stammutter to Boxmann boxers. Muphy was
beautiful dark brindle female.
Wanderobo Tigress
Kali, Bea came from England 1989. My Ch Polly Flinders
(Fergie) died in accident so I phone next day to John Buswell and ask
female puppy from Fergie's sister Sarah. Only one thing was important,
that puppy have to be brindle, I could not have red just after Fergie.
Few months later John send me a letter and told that Sarah will have her
litter middle of June. I started to plan my trip to UK in August when
I heard that Sarah has litter of 4 females and one male.
At Lichfield I did have difficult week because I couldn't choose my puppy.
John and Mary had picked their favorite and I was picking mine. There
was two females with a little different good qualities. Same time some
Dutch breeders also saw puppies and told me what they themselves liked
most. Finally at Thursday night I picked Bea and Friday morning I flew
back. At Heathrow airport people thought that I have toy in my bag when
Bea showed her head :-)
Bea's name was easy to choose. Mother Sarah, aunt was Fergie so little
puppy was naturally after Sarah's daughter Beatrice or Bea. Official name
was Indian cruel goddess Kali who demand humans to sacrifice and female
tiger. Bea was just opposite to her name: kind and loving. She did have
only 3 puppies but all important in my kennel.
