Amanda's birth was once again quite difficult. Pia and Jyri who own Vilkki (the father) were with me as they had never before seen birth of kittens. The biggest kitten (Leevi) got stuck very badly and I couldn't get him out even though I really tried. When I was sure the kitten was dead, I asked Jyri to try to get him out, so he pulled and the kitten came out quite fast. As I remembered that it wasn't so easy to resuscitate a kitten, I warned Pia and Jyri that probably I couldn't bring the kitten back. After I had tried for some time, the kitten first coughed and then started to cry! Nowadays this "poor little thing" is a 7-kg pampered "baby"!
In this litter there were five babies. The tortie girl, Emilia, went to live with her father Vilkki and also the other kittens, red spotted tabby boy Eetu (Leevi), black girl Esmeralda (Essi) and the blue ones Elmeri (Nallu) and Eve (Pate) found quite easily new homes in Helsinki area. Emilia is the only one of this litter who has been at the cat shows and within this year she will become European Champion!
D- and E-litters grew up in the same box as the mothers refused to be separated! They both took care of all the kittens and if one of the moms was away, the kittens went to their aunt for food... It was a lovely sight!
