Kristo Jiri Oskari was born 24.12.1995 on Xmas Eve. He was supposed to be born 23.12., but because everybody warned me that the first baby is usually born late, I had asked my parents to our home to celebrate the Xmas Eve. Day before Xmas Eve I took care of all the Xmas preparations and went to sleep just before midnight. I just fell asleep when the contractions started and soon I realised it was for real when my waters broke - on the kittens that were asleep beside my bed...
I began to pack my bag for the hospital and Jyrki went to warm up the car, as outside it was -27 degrees C! Jyrki was quite nervous and tried to hurry me up, when I was opening the Xmas presents ;-D
Kristo's birth was quite easy, not too long and I didn't need any stitches afterwards. I was also in so good condition after the birth that I walked myself to the hospital ward and left home the very next morning. So our Xmas celebration was delayed only by one day and with me I took home the very best Xmas present ever! His "strategical measurements" were 52,5 cm/4015 kg so quite a big Xmas present!
