There are certain RPGs I consider interesting. And in my terms that does mean the background; I can use Chaosium and CORPS rules for almost anything. Still I can be "accused" of "simulationism".
My thoughts about roleplaying are bit convoluted. Click this.
Systems:
I used Runequest (or to be exact, Chaosium's Basic Roleplaying) as a sort of generic system in the past. Of course, Chaosium has only Cthulhu left and Avalon Hill was devoured by Hasbro, so the system is officially defunct.
However, CORPS is rather interesting point-based system with not too much baggage (and skill lists and disadvantage lists and... and... and...). My thoughts (forthcoming)
Background Worlds
Glorantha: Glorantha was one of the rare fantasy backgrounds worth running campaigns in. I have removed my Glorantha pages to avoid any trouble in the future. Those interested about mty RQ house rules are advised to contact me.
2300AD is probably one of the most interesting hard SF backgrounds. Pity it is out of print. This is the most extensive site for information.
Note that there are other interesting backgrounds but if they were not originally published for RPGs, they are elsewhere.
