I have done 250+ projects for various customers. I publish individual projects on this web site only if the customer or counterpart has published my participation.

My career:

• 1969 M.Sc. EE, Helsinki University of Technology
• 1968 - 70 equipment designer, Nokia
• 1970 - 73 switching planner, Helsinki Telephone Company
• 1973 - 83 technical director, Kotka Telephone Company
• 1983 - now consultant

The focus of my consulting work has been:

• 1980's domestic consulting for corporate endusers, also strategic work for operators and vendors
• 1990's international work, policy, regulation, fact finding on countries
• 2000's international work, mainly policy

I have worked e.g. for The World Bank, ITU, EBRD, Asia-Pacific Telecommunity, and a range of telecom ministries and regulators, either direct or via another consultant company.

In five countries my work is the basis for the present telecommunications policy, and in one case the basis for on-going policy work.

In three countries my work is the immediate basis for on-going work on primary legislation.

In three countries I have contributed significantly to establishing a telecoms regulatory body.
