LEONID 1999 INFORMATION:Leonid
ZHR prediction 1999 by Mr. Esko Lyytinen. The maximum time is predicted on the
18th November 1999 at 0210 UT. Most of the meteors will be from the return of
Tempel-Tuttle in 1899 (3 revolutions ago), less will be from the return in 1932 (2
revolutions ago).

Leonid radiant for Helsinki, Beirut, Tunis and
Tenerife!
I studied Leonid radiant position for four places (Helsinki, Beirut, Tunis and Tenerife).
Note: The latest predictions suggested the maximum time at
0210 UT (see above). The real 1999 Leonid maximum at 0208 UT!

Below the expected Leonid shower rate
(Hourly Leonid Count) according to Leonic MAC '99 -flux estimator.
The duration, peak activity and the time of peak are based on past Leonid showers and
recent numerical modes. The program intends to show the effects of radiant dillution and
sky brightness.
The maximum is expected in Kuwait. If the maximum comes later, the best observation site
moves to west.
With the help of the flux estimator You can calculate the expected Leonid shower rate in
Your observation site.
