The site is located close to the river Main. Half ot the block consits of existing buildings from the 20th century. The competition area is along the Gartenstraße opening up towards south. The new building are designed along the street with an open space in between to ensure sunlight and attractive views also to the neighbours. Wooden sundeck runs through the whole site, between the new and the old built environment, to give quality to the urban space as as common courtyard. |

The whole project is designed for the inhabitants, the quality of barrier-free homes and putting ephasis on the importance of car-free spaces. The private parking and service spaces are below the lightweight sundeck and the four apartments generate a steady rhythmof built/non-built along the Gartenstraße. |

All the apartments are designed with high-quality: barrier-free access, all living spaces equipped with outside windows, minimazing of non-usable flur-corridors, good views within the apartments and to the outside and huge variation in floor plans to ensure personality and choice for the inhabitants. The designs also include a small shop, common spaces for gathering, two saunas and four penthouse apartments with excellent views to the surrounding twonscape. |
