Project assessment: The Salkolahti House achieved in making the point, that a contemporary single-family house designed by architect could be done with moderate building costs. High architectural design, skillfull workmanship and excellent project management received an "Best Building Project in Kangasala 2004" award from the Municipality. One of the criteria was the interesting interpretation of 1950's single-family standard house transformed into a contemporary architectural design, that also fitted easily into the surrounding urban structure, as well as being a cosy home.
