T A I P A L E Project assessment: The Taipale House was a new development in the Atelier's line of single-family houses in the year 2002. The abstract lines were more modern and there seemed to be a shift in expression towards a more contemporary and sculptural look than before. |

Taipale / entrance The zig-zagging roofline of the Taipale House presents different facades and atmospheres to different sides of the building. The entry facade is more official with high white washed walls where as the garden terrace is surrounded by intimate, wooden surfaces. |

Taipale / relaxing Thecat of the house likes to relax on the sofa of the workspace. The view to the inner courtyard is through the large double-glazed windows. Nice and warm, also for the cats. |

Taipale / interior view The warm hearth of the home, the fireplace, is surrounded by the living room and the kitchen. |

Taipale / interior view The cosy dining area opens up to the inner courtyard and to the green garden beyond. |

Taipale / terrace The sunny and comfortable terrace is borded from three sides by the white wooden facades of the building. The view opens up towards south and the green garden beyond. |

Taipale / sauna porch The private sauna is designed towards southeast, giving privacy to the outdoor space under the eaves of the building. This corner is a modern interpretation of the traditional porch. |
