Known Issues with HaloPoint 2.0
Below is a list of known software issues and bugs that will be corrected into the following version of HaloPoint. The list is appended as new problems emerge.
- In HaloPoint 2.0 the angle measurement tool (manual page 30, and Fig. 6.2) in Analysis Window did not work properly if the simulation image rotation angle was different from 0°. This is NOW FIXED (on 30th March 2010). So, if you downloaded HaloPoint 2.0 before 30th March 2010, please, download an updated version in which the measurement stick function works OK.
- When simulation centerpoint is exactly at zenith or nadir, the azimuth -setting has no effect. So if you want to rotate the all-sky image so that the Sun is not exactly south (bottom), use the rotation angle at Simulation View -groupbox.
- Sometimes when the aspect ratio is really low (thin plates), the crystal drawing fails at some viewing angles. The visibility (hidden or in view) of some facets is misinterpreted within the code.
- Sometimes when "Add to the Simulation" is pressed, the underlying simulation is lost and the picturebox grabs the underlying image (whatever is below the form, a desktop for instance). The reason for this is currently unknown. FIXED 12th April 2010! Download new version, replace the old with the new one and continue working with your simulation files as usual.
