Description of the atlas:
The atlas at the moment consists of nine maps presenting the site and terrain of the Koskentila Estate. The maps, their scales, descriptions and links to the maps are introduced next. From a map you can take a more detailed map by clicking a particular area.
Maps presenting the situation of the area:
1 : 8 000 000
A general map covering southern Finland to define the situation of the area, only the biggest towns on the map.
1 : 800 000
A map covering an area with diameter of 100 km. The nearest towns and the roads leading to the area are to be seen.
1 : 200 000
A map covering an area with diameter of 30 km. You can see Pieksämäki and the nearest rural districts; Haukivuori and Virtasalmi and local network of roads.
The map pages presenting the Nykälä Rapids:
1 : 20 000
A map covering an area with diameter of 3 km and the whole fishing area. The borders of the fishing area and the area being under protection are shown here. There are links to the more detailed maps covering the fishing area and a link to a photo-map, which is linked to photographs taken of the Nykälä Rapids area.
1 : 8 000
Four maps, each covering an area with diameter of 1 km, presenting the whole fishing area. These maps are also linked from the 1:
20 000 map, where you can select the more detailed map you want.
