Saari Church

Saari church is the only brick layered church in Parikkala and is drawn by architect Ilmari Launis on 1934.

From the church hill you have a beautiful scenery to the lake which is one of Finlands finest bird lakes (another one is Siikalahti).

Church has a huge altar painting. It is the second largest in Finland and one of the largest in whole Nordic countries. Only in Rovaniemi you will find a bigger church painting and it is over 700 kilometres to there.

On August each year there is held a traditional church festival in Saari.

It is about 10 kilometres to the church from our shop.
