My bag kites
Starting in 1981 with patents in USA and England I continued experiments in any weather. Here I am seen with some models and in the background can be seen ice sheets moving on the rough sea in middle of winter and rain and snow.
The Broiler (chicken to be cooked) can be
made to dance with its very fat legs.

Bag kites by Mårten Bondestam
Before 2000
For this kite I got a patent in the USA. But only after two times at court. However the American company finally did not sign a contract. That cost me 30 000 €.
The long tailed
goldfish that got
gold medal in
Stockholm about
1982. It still exists.
At left in Cervia
called an octopus!
I wanted to make a very realistic dragon.
In 2002 I got 1500 apple cider tins from
a brevery. I cut the sides and seved them
to the ripstop dragon. Here it flies in
Malmö in Sweden. There is a movie with
this dragon behaving in Andalo.
The dragon idea was created in 1982
in blue refuse bag plastic foil.
I made very many kites from bags 1982 -
1986. They flew and med me enthusiastic.
But they are often not good in hard wind.
At left a bumble bee or fly.
This "disturber" in finnish "häirikkö" got
medal in Stockholm. It only rolled on the
lawns disturbing families on picnic. I was told that I could get a medal if I got it flying.
So I run hard with the horrible wind and
it flew some 100 meters. In Cervia the
famous Japanese kite master said
"It is the craziest kite I have seen."
Children love to chase its "hands". And I
like when children are happy.
This is a similar from 2002.
It is still going strong. All plastic.
A small "water mollusk" made of
plastic gloves for painting jobs.
Sold at the auction in Cervia.
The "miniature model" of the attempt to
make the biggest kite in the world. It was
like a flying lorry - heavy and stable.
About 1986.
A thai snake like kite. But with a head like a bag kite, The front of the head is rounded.
That makes bag kites not stable. So the
big snake is constantly moving in the air.
Here it flies in Stockholm about 1986.
It also flies in a video from Marseille in
2010 together with other thai snakes.
The flying paintbrush. In Malmö 2002.
It is also at main page at exhibition
in the WG-house with eyes added.
One year I had rabbit bag kites in Cervia.
It is curiously stable. From the workshop
in Fort Worden, Seattle there was also a
small pink pig. Next year all these kites
were half pig, half rabbit.
The paint brush in Cervia. Not many
people in those days! 1984 ?
The ufos are attacking. I decided
to make a photo with many small
bagkites. It was minus 20 degrees C.
My hands were all frozen before the
picture was taken.
The small bagkite was sold at the Cervia auction.
The mishap in Stockholm. This kite "What have you
done to our dna. We are from the year 3000." My most
complicated kite. The air intakes are at the front. From
there the air goes into the two crue members filling
them with air. From the finger tops the air escapes
into the space ship. The kite broke lose and sailed
out at sea - never found again.
My first big bagkite. Flying far inland Finland. Top.
And far up in the sky.
The Tarzan kite. At a kite festival in Helsinki the kite
came down and a man hurt himself on the kite line
when he came with rollerskites on the pavement. I had to pay a big sum. My opinion is that going with such rollers should be done with respect to others. However
the board of my kite club were against me and the
insurance company did never read my testimony as
it was in swedish and they did not want to give any
rights to swedish speaking people.
Later the kite has flown successfully in many places
in the world.
Here the Tarzan cat is caressing people with its big
soft hands. The hands are soft and doing no harm.
Adam and Eve.
Now in Tokyo
museum?
The sexy woman.
The cock.
