"In the fall 2004 me and my partner were invited to an open house event in Oslo. We left in hurry from home and quickly packed a small lunch for our daughter to take with us. While in the party, walking around and socializing with people I was wondering about the small flies which seemed to fly mostly around us and sit on the shirt and the head of my partner. I kept constantly blowing them away. At some point our daughter got hungry and my partner went to the kitchen with her. When he opened his bag a huge flock of small flies flew from it. The bag had a forgotten, rotten apple in it, which was being consumed by fruit flies. The interesting aspect about this incident for me was that the flies were flying free but stayed mainly with the person carrying their nest. I decided to build a personal wearable fruit fly farm."
