When I came home

At the tender age of seven weeks, on the 16th day of October in the year of 1998 I was taken to my new home, some 300 metres from the place where I was born. Sari was very happy about the fact that even though there were only some 80 aussies in Finland, a perfect litter practically landed on her doorstep. Some guys (or in this case, gals) have all the luck! The previous evening I was introduced to Ufo, and I must admit I would rather have eaten a stetson full of horse manure (yammy!) than gone anywhere with that monster. But they packed me in the car and took off towards Olari, which is some eight kilometres from where we live. This strange manouvre took place because Sari and Sande had to go and pick up a couple of folding chairs for Sari to use when she's watching agility competitions or working in them, but that's a different story. When we finally got back to point A, I had no idea we were right next to mummy's household. I thought I had come to the end of the universe. I was not amused at all, and I expressed it quite clearly. As a matter of fact, the family got bags under their eyes and lots of grey hair during those first few nights, which I spent expressing my opinions. I would only calm down when Sari would let her arm hang down from the bed, for me to use as a chew toy. She was quite perforated during my first few weeks. Then I grew up to be big enough to try climbing to the bed, using Sari's face as a pawhold, and that is when she really started to look badly beaten. Until she finally gave up and started to lift me to the bed. The biggest fun I know is standing on Sari's throat and pressure washing her face. Second on the list is attacking Sande's head, digging it up from under the covers and walking all over it until he makes a noise.

But to get back to that detour via Olari, later I was surprised when I ran into Mom's and Alpo's tracks when we were practising walking on a lead. Even now, as we walk close to Mom's home, I have to pull my lead a bit, to be able to get a closer look at the yard where me and my littermates played when we were puppies.
