This great band was formed in February ´94 (in London) and it released two albums under the label One Little Indian Records. The first one, Paranoid and Sunburnt was certified gold and it has now sold over 200,000 in UK alone. You might have heard the singles Weak and Charity which both were Top 20 hits.

The second album Stoosh has been huge success with the hit singles Hedonism (Just because you feel good), Twisted (Everyday hurts), All I want and Brazen (Weep). The readers of the Kerrang! Magazine voted Skunk Anansie Best New British Band in 1995 and Best British Live Act in 1996 and for a reason!! I've never seen nor heard nothing like them!

They were also nominated for MTV European Music Awards -97 for Best Live Act & Best Group, but unfortunately came out empty handed...

-98 SA changed recordlabel from OLI to Virgin. Single "Charlie Bog Potato" was released March 1st and it jumped to charts and radioplaylists rightaway. The third album called "Post Orgasmic Chill" was released March 22th -99. The hit songs, released as singles are "Charlie Bog Potato", "Secretly", "Lately" and "Follow Me Down".

members of the band:

One can't deny the fact that the singer Skin (Deborah Anne Dyer) is the leading figure in this band, though she strongly points out that "there are four of us". And that's true of course. Skunk Anansie wouldn't be the band that it is without Cass(bass) (Richard Keith Lewis), Ace(guitar) (Martin Ivor Kent) and Mark(drums) (Mark Richardson).

(Ace, Skin, Mark and Cass)

Skin and Ace met a year before SA was formed. At that point Skin was fed up with her decorator-studies and was the leading singer of a band called "Mama Wild". Cass was also a member of that band as well as Len Arran, who BTW has composed songs for SA together with Skin. When the composer of Mama Wild took off, the whole band was history. Skin started looking for people for a new band. They met Ace, who at that time played in a band called "The Screaming Amoebas", at the Splash Club (Ace ran the club and also was a DJ) and he was perfect for the job. When recording the album Paranoid & Sunburnt, drums were played by Robbie France. Mark, who earlier played in such band as "The Little Angels" and "b.l.o.w.", joined the group a while later.
